Our Mission
We know that ideas have consequences and that many influential and inspirational advocates of a free society read just one book which had a profound impact on their understanding, leading them to dedicate their lives to the pursuit of the free society.
But unfortunately ideas that explain the relationships between individual freedom, limited government and prosperity are not available to most people in the world. This is the case in much of Africa, Asia and the Middle East particularly if you don’t have access to fast download speeds. For those who do not speak English or another European language, they are generally not available at all.

So we have produced a mini library of relevant texts in English on a CD called Ideas for a Free Society. We support the translation of texts and production of CDs, DVDs and associated books in other languages, essay competitions about these ideas, and major outreach efforts by local partners in some of the least free and poorest parts of the world. A DVD has been launched in Portuguese, a CD and student primer in Kyrgyz, a CD in Turkish and Russian and a CD in Chinese with two books for students to follow shortly.

We believe passionately in the creative power of freedom and the prosperity it brings. Freedom meaning that each of us is free to act without interference by others so long as our actions do not interfere with the actions of others. This requires both tolerance and a government that is able to protect freedom.
First as International Policy Network and now as Network for a Free Society we have been working with colleagues in many countries since 2006 to distribute texts that explore and explain the principles and foundations of free societies.
Hundreds of classical liberal texts by Smith, Mill, Bastiat, Hayek, Mises, Friedman and many more have been made available in digital format and put on a CD in English that is cheap to make and transport. About 90,000 of them are in the hands of those who would otherwise likely have no access to them.
